A Message From the Director
Welcome to Christ the King Catholic Church's Honduras Mission Website. This site is designed to inform visitors of our mission to help the people of Honduras. The theme of the mission for 2010 is "Missionaries of Jesus Christ”.
This is Christ the King’s 13th year in service to the poor of Honduras. Our mission has been very successful in the past, and we hope to continue to build on the strong foundation that has been laid. The strength of our mission lies not only in the missionaries that go to Honduras, but in the many who participate through their prayers, monetary contributions, donated supplies, and volunteer activities. The strong ties to the people in the villages we serve that have developed over the years have made our mission a collaborative effort.
Since Hurricane Mitch in 1998, the people of Honduras have experienced a level of poverty we can't begin to comprehend. They are in dire need of our assistance, love, and prayers. The mission is an excellent opportunity to practice your faith by serving the poor. James 2:17 states . . . "faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
This is the first year that we will have 2 mission trips to Trujillo; a Satellite Mission in March and our regular mission in June. Please check out the news item “Satellite Mission Info” for more on our March mission.
